American Express has launched two new limited-time sign-up offers on its Platinum and Gold Cards, available until January 13, 2026. Eligible Platinum Card members can earn up to £350 worth of membership rewards and £250 of travel credit.
Gold Card members can also earn £200 worth of points, provided they meet minimum spend requirements. Points can be spent on a variety of travel, entertainment and lifestyle brands.
Platinum Offer
Customers interested in the Platinum Offer should apply for and be approved for the card by January 13, 2026. To qualify for the 75,000 membership points worth £350, and the £250 American Express Travel credit, they must spend £6,000 within the first six months of card membership. Card applicants should also ensure they have not held another American Express Card enrolled in the American Express Membership Rewards programme in the last year.
Benefits include £400 in global dining statement credit, complimentary airport lounge access with the Priority Pass and worldwide travel insurance.
The American Express Travel credit, redeemed through pre-paid bookings with Amex Travel Online, can be spent on flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises and entire vacation packages. These include perks such as lower airfares and benefits at a selection of premium hotels.
Earning additional membership points comes at a higher rate of two points per £1 spent on Amex Travel Online. The Platinum Card has an annual fee of £650.
Gold Offer
Gold Offer redeemers should also apply and be officially approved for the Card before January 13, 2026. Customers who spend £5,000 in the first six months can earn 40,000 Membership Rewards points – double the usual bonus available – and worth £200.
Gold Card members enjoy no annual fee during their first year; an annual fee of £195 will apply thereafter. Core benefits include four complimentary Priority Pass airport lounge visits per year, £10 back on Deliveroo purchases each month and hotel credit perks with The Hotel Collection.
‘Invite a friend’ offer
Alongside these offers, American Express has invited customers to ‘invite a friend’, giving Gold and Platinum Card members, and those they successfully refer and who are approved for an account, the chance to earn additional points and rewards.
The offer, which also runs until January 13, 2026, grants 20,000 Membership Rewards to Platinum Card members who ‘invite a friend’. Meanwhile, their friend can earn 85,000 points and £250 in American Express Travel credit when they spend £6,000 in the first three months.
Gold Card members who invite a friend can earn 16,000 membership points, while their referred friend can earn 45,000 points when they spend £5,000 in their first six months of Card membership.
Card members can earn up to a maximum of 90,000 Membership Rewards points per calendar year through the referral programme.
