There’s just days left to get up to £200 free cash in your bank account before Christmas from three major UK banks.
Lloyds Bank, NatWest and Nationwide are all offering cash incentives to customers who switch bank accounts – and you’ll get it before Christmas Day providing you make the switch in time.
The cash will come as a welcome boost to cash-strapped households facing the squeeze this month, with the likes of expensive heating bills, presents and festive food to pay for in December.
Lloyds Bank is offering the biggest cash incentive at £200 to customers who switch to its Club Lloyds account.
To get it you need to open the account online, by phone, or in branch and you must have started the switch by December 10 to qualify for the bonus, so there’s just a day left to grab this deal.
If you meet this deadline then you’ll get your cash within 10 working days. It means that if you made the switch on the last possible day of December 10, you should receive the £200 payment by December 20 at the latest, just in time for Christmas.
NatWest is offering £180 to customers who switch to one of its Reward accounts and will pay the cash into your account within just seven days.
To be eligible for the offer you must have an eligible Reward account, pay in £1,250 (this can be made of multiple payments and must stay in your account for 24 hours) and log in to the NatWest mobile app.
If you meet all of these conditions, you’ll see the free cash land in your account in a week. It means that you could make the switch as late as December 17 and still get the freebie before Christmas Day.
Finally, Nationwide is offering a cash incentive of £175 to customers who switch to a qualifying account. To get the free reward you must switch a non-Nationwide bank account with at least two active Direct Debits, pay in £1,000 and spend once on the debit card within 31 days of requesting the switch.
Nationwide will then credit your account with £175 within 10 days of all these requirements being met and the payment will appear on your statement as ‘Switching Offer’.
