Octopus Energy has said Britons they have just days to check their energy bill to make sure they’re in line to receive a £150 discount if they’re eligible for it.
The Warm Home Discount, which is from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), is applied directly to people’s energy bills if they receive certain benefits. Payments start in October and continue until March, and people will soon start receiving letters confirming their eligibility. To qualify for this year’s payment, people must meet certain conditions by next Sunday (August 24). This includes the eligible recipient having their name on the electricity bill. A statement from Octopus Energy reads: “If you live in England or Wales and receive a means-tested benefit, you’ll get £150 off your bills this winter. Just check you’re named on your electricity bill by August 24, 2025.”
