Santander is offering customers a £100 bonus without requiring them to switch accounts. Typically, similar incentives require customers to transfer their main current account, including direct debits and salary payments, to claim the cash reward.
However, this week the high street bank has launched the offer that gives customers a £100 Amazon gift card, and the requirements to claim are simple.
Money Saving Expert explained: “We were surprised to see this launch on Monday, as just last week Santander ended its offer of a £30 voucher for opening one of its accounts. It’s clearly still looking for more customers, as now just days later it’s back with a new and improved offer.
“Open a new Santander current account (whether you’re a new or existing customer) via the special links below and spend 30 times on the debit card within 60 days (if that’s a lot, just split your supermarket shopping up to qualify).
“Keep the account open and you’ll get a link to claim a £100 Amazon voucher from Feb 12, 2026 (if not, check your spam). Max one voucher per person, and you will be credit-checked.”
According to MSE, opening The Everyday account is the best option if you simply want the voucher, as it has no fees. It noted the Edge account as “a top (joint) bills account” before adding that “it costs £3/mth but pays 1% cashback (max £10/mth) on council tax, water, energy, broadband and other bills you pay from it via Direct Debit.
“Its debit card also gives near-perfect exchange rates abroad, so it can be very useful to run alongside your main account(s)”.
The Edge Up account is another option to look at. MSE said the account is similar, but “better if you’ve bigger bills as it pays a max £15/mth cashback for a £5/mth fee”. Finally, there’s Edge Explorer, which is “a packaged bank account offering a range of insurance for a £17/mth fee,” reports The Mirror.
Alastair Douglas, CEO of TotallyMoney, said: “This week, Santander launched a new current account offer, with a £100 Amazon Gift Card up for grabs. But unlike the usual incentives, you won’t need to shut down your old account or use the Current Account Switch Service.
“Instead, you’ll just need to make 30 direct debit card transactions within 60 days of opening. The transactions can include contactless payments, physical purchases, and online shopping – so in theory, you might not need to change how you spend, just the card you’re using.
“It’s worth noting that the offer isn’t available directly through Santander and only available via aggregators and comparison sites. You can claim the reward when opening the Everyday, Edge, Edge Up, or Edge Explorer accounts.”
