Asda shoppers have been issued a six-week warning to use their Christmas Cashpots before a December deadline.
The Christmas Saver Cashpot feature allows customers to save money to put towards their Christmas shop, but these savings must be redeemed by December 31 or they will expire.
Customers can transfer savings from their main cashpot in their Asda Rewards loyalty app to their Christmas Saver Cashpot and build up funds through ‘Christmas Saver missions’.
Asda said 1.7 million customers saved an average of £30 to put towards their festive shop when the feature launched in 2023, and this year shoppers have had even longer to save as the cashpot has been open since February.
The initiative aims to encourage shoppers to start saving little and often to spread the cost of Christmas and ensure they have some money saved up for December when budgets are often tight.
Asda shoppers have been building up their cashpot over the course of the year but now the deadline for spending these rewards is now mere weeks away.
The retailer has warned that customers’ Christmas Saver balance must be converted into vouchers to spend in store or online across Asda and George by Tuesday, December 31. If your savings aren’t converted into vouchers by this deadline then all of your savings will expire.
Once you’ve redeemed your voucher, you have 90 days to spend it. Vouchers will be automatically applied to your next online shop and if you’re in-store, you can scan your voucher at the checkout to redeem it.
In an email to customers, the Asda Rewards team explained: “Your Christmas Saver is now available to spend. You can convert your Christmas Saver Cashpot into a Voucher(s) and scan on your Christmas shopping.
“If you’re shopping online, a converted voucher will automatically be taken off – so make sure you only convert it when you need it. Your Voucher can be used at the same time as a regular Cashpot Voucher.
“Your Christmas Cashpot Savings will expire at 11.59pm on 31/12/2024. Online orders must be placed before 31/12/2024 and not amended after this date.”
