The Starknet Foundation, a Layer 2 Ethereum project, announced the launch of SN Stack on Wednesday, a new suite of tools enabling developers to create custom blockchains known as appchains.
According to a press release shared with Cryptonews, Starknet highlighted that SN Stack’s blockchain security is powered by zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs, a cryptographic system offering robust protection.
SN Stack: A Versatile Suite for Developers
The SN Stack comprises a versatile suite of technologies, designed to address diverse developer needs with three distinct options, two of which are modular.
- Madara: An open-source, community-driven framework offering flexibility and customization, ideal for rapid appchain deployment.
- Dojo: Tailored for on-chain gaming and complex applications, this option provides a robust toolset for game developers.
- StarkWare Sequencer: This option delivers the full infrastructure of public Starknet, ensuring high performance for appchain deployment.
Appchains Gain Traction in 2024
StarkWare co-founder and CEO Eli Ben-Sasson noted, “2024 was the year appchains gained traction, but solutions were primarily built on optimistic rollups. SN Stack will change this, bringing ZK-STARK cryptography to developers at low costs and with unparalleled scalability. It’s a game-changer for the appchain space.”
StarkWare highlighted its journey with ZK rollups, which began with the launch of StarkEx, laying the groundwork for SN Stack’s development.
One real-world application of SN Stack is Paradex, an appchain that collaborated as a design partner during the development process.
This collaboration highlighted the SN Stack’s ability to support developing blockchain projects.
Starknet stated that this release enhances its commitment to blockchain scalability, empowering developers to turn their ideas into reality.
