A new map has revealed where in the UK you could be getting a £400 boost to your pension.
The new full state pension is set to be boosted above inflation by more than £400 a year.
This is because wages data to be released next week is set to show an increase in average incomes, according to BBC reports.
This would be great news for pensioners as the triple lock means the state pension increases every April by whatever number is highest out of inflation, the average UK wage increase or 2.5 percent.
The increase will take the full state pension for men who were born after 1951 and women born after 1953 to around £12,000 next year, after a £900 increase last year.
A total of 3.4 million people were receiving the new state pension in May of last year, according to the latest figures from the Department for Work and Pensions.
People who retired before 2016 and receive the “old” state pension will also see an increase in how much they get.
They are likely to see an increase of at least £300 a year, according to the BBC, taking the basic state pension to £9,000 next year under the old system.
The news comes on the back of government plans to cut the winter fuel payments for millions of pensioners, restricting it to those receiving pension credits.
Sir Keir Starmer has been accused of “running scared” after refusing to hold a debate on his plans to take winter fuel payments off 10 million pensioners.
The Prime Minister insisted he did not want to cut the allowance worth hundreds of pounds but said the move would help “fix the foundations” of the economy.
However, critics have accused the government of wanting to avoid scrutiny over the hugely unpopular plans, which will formally come into force on September 16.
Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary Mel Stride said: “Labour are running scared over their plans to cut Winter Fuel Payments for pensioners.
“Not only do they want to block Parliament having a say on their plans, they have not published an impact assessment as they want to hide the true costs to pensioners.
“There is no reason not to grant this debate and vote on this other than to ride roughshod over Parliament – the only reason Labour aren’t granting one is because they are running scared of asking their own MPs to vote on this matter. Labour knows axing the Winter Fuel Payment is the wrong thing to do. They’ve made this choice and they cannot defend it.”
