UK restaurant giving away 50,000 free pizzas – when customers do one thing

One UK restaurant chain plans to give away 50,000 free pizzas for National Pizza Day this Monday. In order to redeem the deal, customers must arrive at the restaurant with just one thing.

Pizza Express is offering a free pizza to any customer who arrives to the restaurant this Monday wearing a black and white striped top, a nod to the brand’s monochrome aesthetic. Anyone who arrives in this item of clothing has the chance to enjoy a free Margherita pizza. The restaurants also offer vegan and gluten free versions of their Margherita pizza.

Promotion tokens will be handed out to customers wearing black and white stripes on a first come first serve basis and 150 tokens will be handed out per pizzeria.

To claim this promotion, customers should hand their ‘National Pizza Day’ token to a waiter, who will then apply this to their bill.

Customers should note that clothing should be a black and white striped t-shirt or jumper and the deal is for customers who are dining in the restaurants only – not those collecting or ordering their pizza for delivery.

The restaurant also advises customers that no additional toppings are allowed in this promotion, and the offer includes classic pizza base only.

The offer cannot be redeemed at Welcome Break locations, Pizza Express airport locations, Pizza Express Live music venues or when ordering at Pizza Express supermarket pod concessions.

However, customers looking to use the promotion have plenty of other branches to choose from, with nearly 360 Pizza Express pizzerias across the UK.

Customers can also redeem their Pizza Express Club Rewards with this promotion, provided there is a minimum £10 spend.

Lou Jones, Pizza Express Marketing Director, said: “Our Earn Your Stripes giveaway has become such a moment for both us and pizza lovers!

“This year, we’re giving away more pizzas than ever before in celebration of PizzaExpress Live turning the big 5-0, so get those stripes on and join us – there’s never been a better reason for a pizza party on a Monday!”.

The high street restaurant is also giving out more pizzas this year in anticipation of its music brand, PizzaExpress Live, celebrating 50 years of music later this year.
