Half-term is always expensive, but one thing is here to save your wallet. Several family favourite restaurants are offering free children’s meals this February half-term to help ease the burden.

From Italian chains to quick lunch spots and traditional gastropub fare, The Express has pulled together a list of some of the best deals this winter to suit every palate. The list features the likes of popular Italian chain Bella Italia and crowd-pleasers like Bill’s. At some venues, children can even get three courses for free with a drink.

Ask Italian

This pasta and pizza chain has gone one step further than many by offering free kids’ meals for two weeks, from February 8 to February 22, excluding the evening of Valentine’s Day.

Diners must get a code from the ASK Perks rewards app, which entitles them to up to two free kids’ meals from the Kids Menu when at least one adult main meal is ordered. There is no strict age limit, although it says the meals are “great for kids up to the age of 10”.

Banana Tree

This Southeast Asian kitchen will give one kid’s meal on the house during the school holidays when an adult main is ordered. Options include kids’ katsu, crispy chicken or crunchy sweetcorn fritters.

Bella Italia

This offer is not strictly for half term, but it’s well worth a mention. From Sunday to Thursday, the chain offers three courses and a drink for free that’s “suitable for 2-11 year olds” with the purchase of an adult main. The offer is not available at certain sites, including in Center Parcs, Edinburgh and London.

Bill’s

This something-for-everyone restaurant will feed up to two kids for free when one adult orders any main from the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. The children must be aged 10 and under during the offer, which runs from Monday 16 to Friday 20 February.

Morrisons

The supermarket cafe offers a free kids’ meal with the purchase of an adult main meal worth £5 or more. This offer is not exclusive to half term, so you can continue to get the savings year-round. The kids’ menu includes chicken dippers, fish fingers, or a mini cheese pizza, with a children’s drink.

Pausa cafe (Dunelm)

Kids can choose a main, drink and two snacks for free with any £4 spent in the cafe. This deal is available throughout the year, so it doesn’t need to be saved for half term.

Subway

The fast-food sandwich shop will extend its Kids Eat Free deal to the February half-term for the first time. Families can get one free kids’ meal with the purchase of any Footlong Sub at participating restaurants nationwide from February 14-20.

The Little Subs Kids Pack includes a freshly made 4-inch mini-Sub, a snack, and a drink of choice.

YO! Sushi

Kids eat free all day when dining with a full-paying adult who spends at least £10, during local school holiday dates. Little ones can get a kiddo bento boxes for free, which includes crunchy edamame, maki, mixed veggie rice, a choice of protein, such as katsu chicken, and a drink.

Zizzi

The Italian favourite also offers up free children’s meals during the holidays with the purchase of an adult main. Diners will need to download the Zillionaires’ Club App to claim the code, which can be used across England, Wales and Scotland. Children can also get a Candy Floss Sundae on the house.
