Lloyds bank and Halifax are set to close 95 branches, becoming the latest banks to shut sites on UK high streets.

Lloyds Banking Group, which includes Lloyds Bank, Halifax, and the Bank of Scotland, will close a number of branches in 2026.

It also has confirmed plans to close further branches of its bank chains through the first half of 2027.

The group claims that the closures are taking place as most customers have shifted to online banking, using the mobile app, website or phone rather than withdrawing cash and making requests in store.

Throughout the remainder of the year, a total of 44 Lloyds Bank branches are expected to close across the UK.

Then, in the first half of 2027, another 13 will close their doors.
